About Your Photographer

The question I get asked most often is how I came to specialize in boudoir photography. It started with a destination wedding I shot in Jamaica… But the heart of it is that I love making women feel beautiful and see themselves in a new way, knowing that my work is having a positive impact on both my clients and their relationships … and, well, I’m really good at it! :)

 

Turning everyday women into sexy, model-esque, vixens (most of whom say they don’t see themselves as sexy) is what I live for. It requires skill that, frankly, not every photographer has. Boudoir is more than poses. (I’ll let you in on a secret, most photographers struggle with posing!) Small tweaks make all the difference!

 

Getting the non-model, girl next door — aka YOU — feeling confident and looking gorgeous is what I’m great at. You don’t need to know what to do or how to ‘be’ — you don’t need to love every aspect of your body or feel totally comfortable in front of the camera. I can work with you! I will make it happen. All you need to do is show up...

As for me, I have two kids who are quite lovable — sometimes irritating and a lot entertaining! My husband of 14 years — the same. He’s all of the above plus very hard working and an excellent cook! The final member of the fam is our quirky, Min Pin/Chihuahua rescue, Pete. He is extra lazy and very macho for a little guy. Prior to finding my calling as a boudoir photographer, I was a writer, marketer, and entrepreneur. When I was in my early 20s, I started and managed an e-boutique called Heartbreaker’s Closet. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English and, as you can see, that has served me oh-so well.

 

I’m laid back, and, as you can see, a little sarcastic. As I get older, I find myself not only accepting but appreciating my curves. I no longer hold myself to unobtainable standards… and I feel sexier than ever! (Lucky for my husband). It’s my goal, to help others get there, too. This life, we need to live it. That comfort zone, we need to step out of it. Ourselves, we need to embrace. Because WE are one of a kind.
